Hey friends! Today’s blog post is for the newest release from Holo Taco. For this release, Holo Taco has collaborated with YouTuber/Twitch Streamer, Julien Solomita.
The Holo Taco x Julien collection is available right now on the Holo Taco website. This collection is limited edition and will NOT be restocked. As always, I will have links and sale details at the end of the post. I also did some comparisons because I couldn’t help myself.

Holo Taco is a US based nail polish brand. Their polishes are in 12ml bottles, 10 free, cruelty-free, and vegan.
Bep Bep Blue
Description: a light cornflower blue crème polish
Bep Bep Blue had a wonderful formula. The base felt along the normal thickness level from this brand’s creme formula. It started out a little bit more uneven than some of the other cremes in this release but reached full opacity easily.
I found the color description for this polish to be accurate.
My photos show Bep Bep Blue in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat. I think it will be a 2-3 coater depending on your application. My pointer finger seemed to be good in 2 coats but my other fingers needed that third coat.
I also swatched it over Polar Princess from the Winter Shimmers collection. It gave the polish an icy princess kind of look which I liked a lot.
Greyt
Description: a dark metallic grey
Greyt had a (wait for it) great formula. I do believe this formulation is a new one for the brand. The base and application was similar in thickness to the other Holo Taco creme formulas. So slightly thicker but not at all overly thick in my opinion.
The polish does show some brush strokes once it dries down. Personally, I didn’t find them to be distracting as they are pretty minor in my opinion.
I found the base color for this to be a dark grey that has just a hint of a blueish/cool tone to it.
My photos show Greyt in 2 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat. I think this one will likely be a solid 2 coater but I could see needing a third if you go in for very thin coats.
Nothing in here will be difficult to remove.
For the Holo Combo, I used the Everything Taco topper. I LOVED the two together.
I’m Live
Description: A cool-toned violet crème
I’m Live had a really great formula. I was a little surprised that it started out fairly sheer and uneven but it did reach full opacity in 2 coats. Aside from being uneven on the first coat, it applied very smoothly.
To my eye, this is a violet with like a touch of blue. My camera originally photographed this polish as a blue leaning blurple and I had to color correct. I will say trying to get the *exact* color of purple for this polish was rough. I think I spent a good 20 minutes trying to get the exact shade before saying “that’s close enough”.
My photos show I’m Live in 2 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. Depending on the thickness of coats, this could potentially be a 3 coater.
I also paired this polish with the Aurora Unicorn Skin flakie topper.
Magical Mustache
Description: a walnut-brown crème
Magical Mustache had a fantastic formula. It applied so buttery smooth and very evenly. I feel like this is the one color that was really missing a place in the Holo Taco creme lineup.
I found the shade of brown to be a warm toned cartoon milk chocolate brown. Browns often lean very red/warm on me. I ended up needing to It was also almost similar to my skin tone
My photos show Magical Mustache in 2 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat.
Monstera
Description: deep forest green crème
Monstera had a fantastic formula. It also applied buttery smooth and self leveled perfectly.
To my eye, the color for this was exactly as described. To be honest, dark greens like this are my least favorite type of green.
My photos show Monstera in 2 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove and I didn’t experience any staining.
I paired this one with the Celestial lights topper. I liked this one a lot more with the topper!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I liked this collection. The color story didn’t speak to me but Greyt and I’m Live did! So those will be my top picks this time around.
The Collection Box
The full collection will also come with this limited edition collector’s box. I will note, that I noticed that the box had a strange smell to it at first. I thought it smelled somewhere between cardboard and maybe like a wood? It didn’t smell bad but I just noticed that it smelled different when I first opened my box. The scent/odor dissipated with time so it’s not a real issue.
Along with this collection, some limited edition stickers will also be available. I used the white star and lightning bolt sticks over Greyt + Everything Taco with Hot Wire Pink as an accent nail. The stickers will be $10 for a pack of 3 sheets.
I found the stickers applied very easily. I haven’t used nail art stickers in forever and didn’t have any issues with them. Well, I did mess up by not sticking them down firmly enough and then when I added top coat I pressed the stickers down which caused the top coat to feel textured.
That was on me and I actually wore this manicure for an entire weekend. Which is a very long time for me.
Comparisons
I decided to compare Bep Bep Blue to Cyantific and Bored Meeting. No dupes here!
I decided to compare I’m Live to Work Bestie and Indigo Away. Again, no dupes!
I didn’t really have anything by this brand that was similar to Greyt so I decided to compare it to One Coat Black and a China Glaze polish called Stone Cold. When I saw Greyt, I thought of Stone Cold but they aren’t as similar as I thought they were.
And finally, I wanted to compare Monstera to Here For The PayDay and Green Screen. I think these 3 colors would like really cool as a gradient.
